The same moment in every U.S. time zone
Each color is a time zone. Striped states are split between two zones; the map shows the state, not the county line where the zone changes. The From and To zones stay bright.
UTC is measured from the prime meridian, the 0° line through Greenwich, England. UTC never changes for daylight saving, but clocks in England do: they match UTC in winter and run on British Summer Time (UTC+1) from late March to late October.
